Hello, Big Apple!

I'm  typing this out from home, amidst packing and planning, because I'm hopping on a plane tomorrow to New York! Some of you long term readers might remember that I went to NYC last spring and I'm so excited to visit the city again.

I'm looking forward to seeing snow, the beautiful architecture, and Central Park! And of course, eating all the amazing food. Can't forget about the food. If there are any readers there, drop a comment below - or if you've been to New York before, share your favorite sights and places to eat!

  1. Oh man, I love NYC... there are just too many cool places I could tell you to go... Times Square, of course. Rockafeller Center, just to say you've been there. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a favorite... But mostly I'd say just wander and take in the sights. :) And don't set a schedule for yourself - just roll with it. Have a terrific time!!

    1. Iris, we'd been to Rockefeller Center last year and loved the view...such a good suggestion. We actually did do the Museum of Art and wandered around Central Park. Thanks for all your advice, girlie!

  5. Oh so exciting!!!! I've only been there once, but it was so much fun! The Balto statue in Central Park that I accidentally rediscovered was one of my favorites ;-) The World Trade Center was a place that I don't think I can list as a favorite, but it was an intensely powerful experience. I was young when it happened, but it had a huge impact on me so going and standing there was very profound and saddening.

On a happier note - St. Patrick's Cathedral is breathtaking! I contemplated breaking into Fulton Sheen's tomb and bringing his relics back to Illinois with me where they belong.

    1. Amanda, I loved St. Patrick's Cathedral last year...it was so, so gorgeous and awe-inspiring...haha, I'm sure the security guards would have had a problem with your breaking and entering, as good as your intentions were. ;)

We spent one afternoon wandering around Central Park - I didn't find the Balto statue, but I did find Shakespeare! And I ended up having to leave before we could go to the World Trade Center Memorial, but I wish I could have made it.
